Fordhall Farm pioneers call on fellow farmers to rebuild ties with local community

Fordhall Farm pioneers call on fellow farmers to rebuild ties with local community

Fordhall Farm became a global phenomenon in 2006
when siblings Charlotte and Ben Hollins, aged just 21 and 19
respectively, fought to save their late father’s organic family farm
from developers
. Their campaign, an early precursor to the now popular crowdfunding
model, raised £800,000 from 8,000 neighbours and altruistic donors all
over the world, creating a community-owned business that attracted the
support of Sting, the Prince of Wales and Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall
and is still thriving today.
