AOA 150 BIOS update — Acer Community

Finally got it updated.

As I know lots of people have had a similar problem, here's what finally worked for me.

I tried the original Acer article:  /en/home/leaving?target=http%3A%2F%2Facer.custhelp.com%2Fapp%2Fanswers%2Fdetail%2Fa_id%2F3332%2F%7E%2Fmy-aspire-one-aoa110-or-aoa150-battery-no-longer-recharges%2C-what-should-i-do%253F%23_ga%3D1.49162149.204472489.1412504816"
class="Popup

But this didn't work for me.  I then found this article, /en/home/leaving?target=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.flyertalk.com%2Fforum%2F16654292-post37.html" class="Popup

I
tried this with several different USB memory sticks, but no luck.  I
then posted here and was going to try again following IronFly's
suggestion but UNetbootin didn't have the option to boot to MS-DOS and I
don't have any windows disks to create my own boot disk.

I
reformatted the stick and created a fresh freedos boot stick and copied
3310.bat, 3310.fd and the exe to the root of the boot stick.  I then
rebooted.  This time instead of selecting freedos live only I selected
freedos safe mode (no drivers) from the boot menu, purely on a hunch.
This time when I ran 3310.bat I could see information on the screen and
it showed the update was in progress, when it was finished the netbook
rebooted.  I went into the BIOS screen and checked the version number.
 It was now 3310.  WOOHOOO!!!

My battery is now charging!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks to all the articles and IronFly for giving me the strength to continue :-)
