Human Rights and Ethics

Epistemological review of the works of human rights in Colombia, El Salvador and Argentina adding some extras from Borges, Machado and Neruda.

We will be adding the examples of communities (like Jewish groups, African people and others), how segregation affects and boost inequalities in vulnerable communities.

As part of the virtual experience, music will be part of it too, so far we have chosen:

  1. Resurrection Symphony -Mahler-
  2. Va, pensiero -Verdi-
  3. E lucevan le stelle -Puccini-.
  4. Adagio for strings -Barber-.
  5. Orion -Metallica-
  6. 'Last of the Mohicans' -mix-
  7. The Mission | Soundtrack Suite (Ennio Morricone)

Some useful documents:
  1. Herber Anaya Sanabria: "In jail Anaya worked on a human rights record which included testimonies of 430 of the 432 inmates describing methods of torture applied to them. The 160 pages record and a video showing torture signs were smuggled outside and sent to the Marin County Interfaith Task Force. The human rights abuse record is now housed at the Archives at the University of Colorado at Boulder Libraries"
  2. Hector Abad Gomez: "de donde viene la violencia" ('where violence comes from).
  3. Ignacio Ellacuria: a Grammar of Justice" -Kevin F. Burke-.
  4. Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan: "the non violent soldier of Islam" -Eknath Easwaran -
How this ipact us these days with:
  1. Isolation.
  2. Segregation.
  3. Vulenrable communities
  4. Perepespectives towards our vulnerable members in our community.
