There are people proffiting from the good will of consumers that want to help farmers bu when they arrive to those places, it looks more like a festival full of retailers, wholesalers, shops and restaurants.
We asked "were are the farmers?" And they were no more than 5 or 7 in the wholeplace! Clearly those profitting from it should be aware of the problematic facing our farms and cooperate with us to explore other venues how the farmer can diversify and profit from it too.
LFT will ask the support of Jerry, Shane and Merv to add content to this. We bought a directory system and an offline promotion program that can help commuity groups to raise awareness of their issues as well as to create another donation stream if they help us in the promotion.
What we need from the volunteers:
- explain the issue of the so called "farmers' markets"
- are farmers extinct species in those markets?
- do farmers have a negotiation body to communicate their issues to the markets' managers?
