SKILLSfunding and CROWDfunding

SKILLSfunding at LFT-Australia

Just like CROWDfunding, SKILLSfunding relies on (a) a project and (b) a presentation of this project to an audience to fund it. The only difference is that (c) SKILLSfunding must show a service or ap roduct to the audience that they can pay before it is delivered.

This is how books used to be funded before, writers used to sell subscriptions and if they had enough subscribers the book was printed. -wikipedia-

Coming back to skillsfunding: you must show a set of skills that could be used by the audience or another target by the same audience. For example, your project management skills to support a group of nurses in Ethiopia but you present your idea to a network of universities in Italy and some lay people in Australia.

Some key questions:

  1. Where to show your skills: from your own or use LFT's science festivals
  2. Why to do skillsfunding: it's faster and you reach a wider audience.
  3. How to start: set up your own festival or contact LFT-Australia.
  4. What can you get out of it: The chance to connect with funding sources and job opportunities.
LFT-Australia is a half-non for profit business and stands for "Lift Fair-Trade" our goal is to teach people how to "Live with Less fear to Failure and Tension." www.lftaustralia.com
